Fasting & cleansing · Sunshine Coast

Fasting, cleansing and a genuine reset.

If it interests you, say so when you enquire and we’ll talk about whether it suits you.

Fasting happens only if you ask for it.

Fasting is never part of a stay unless you want it, and no part of any retreat depends on eating less. If it interests you, tell us when you enquire and we’ll talk about whether it suits you.

When guests do raise it, the conversation comes first. Ian’s background brings together Ayurveda and natural living, and a lighter approach to food sits comfortably inside a personalised retreat plan. That judgement is made with you, before your retreat is confirmed, not after you arrive.

If a lighter cleanse interests you rather than fasting itself, that is an easier conversation again: simpler meals, fewer of them, or food chosen to feel light. How food works here explains the ordinary arrangements this would sit inside.

What people usually mean by a “detox retreat”.

For most people, a “detox retreat” means time away, simpler food, rest and a break from everyday habits. That is what we offer — as wellbeing, not as a medical procedure.

We don’t make medical claims: nothing here treats a condition or is prescribed, and nothing is sold as a cleanse. What a reset-style stay actually offers is more ordinary and, for most people, more useful: a break in routine, food you have chosen deliberately, unhurried sleep, time outdoors and someone to think it through with.

If you are under medical care, or taking prescribed medication, keep it in place and talk to your doctor before changing how you eat. A retreat sits alongside that care, never in place of it.

What a reset-style retreat actually involves.

No protocol, no programme to complete. These are the parts guests most often mean when they say they want to reset.

What’s included depends on the retreat you choose and your length of stay, and is set out in your retreat plan, with the price, before you book.

Lighter food, without a rulebook

Simpler meals are easy to arrange.

Main meals are prepared by local food providers or you self-cater in your apartment’s full kitchen. Either way, lighter and simpler meals are straightforward to ask for — as is vegetarian or plant-focused food, which many guests choose for the same reason.

Where this fits among the retreats.

Fasting and cleansing interests aren’t a retreat of their own. They sit inside whichever retreat suits you.

Stays are two, three, five or seven nights. Compare the lengths, or see how the retreats work.

A few things you may be wondering.

Is fasting compulsory, or part of every retreat?

No, neither. You can eat three main meals a day and nothing else about your retreat changes. If fasting does interest you, mention it in your enquiry: suitability is considered first, and whatever is agreed goes into your retreat plan before you arrive.

Is this a medical detox?

No. Beach Health Retreat is a non-clinical wellbeing retreat: nothing is diagnosed, treated or prescribed here.

Will I be told to stop taking my medication?

No, and you should not stop prescribed medication because of anything you read here. Any change to medication is a matter for you and your doctor.

Can I do a cleanse instead of a full fast?

A lighter approach to food is usually the easier conversation, and more guests choose it. Tell us what you have in mind when you enquire.

What does it cost?

It depends on the retreat you choose, its length and your food choice, and it is set out in your retreat plan before anything is booked.
